SOME MORE ABOUT US

Who are we?

On 1989 the artists - Nelly Nenova and Dimitar Petrov started common work under the alias "Dinel". We make art-projects and design. We work as scenographers with different theatrical troupes. Scenography was our subject. We also make projects for printed adverts (posters, folders, visit-cards, catalogues, invitation cards, tickets, diplomas and others), logo, space design (galleries, clubs, children places, offices, restaurants and others). We started with the designing of a Christmas market outdoors. In 1989 and 1995 we used to make jewels from natural materials and non-precious metals. Then we started researching the folk arts of making jewels. And we found the precious treasure-house of folk arts and traditions. We're interested in the art elements, the stage properties, the costumes and the ritual objects. The most detailed research we made on the marchen rituals. The bulgarian amulet - the martenitsa is known in the world for years. Since 1999 we yearly make an exhibition - martenitsas-market. This is our little contribution to saving and popularizing of this ritual (You can read more by the "Bulgaria - traditions" link). Our studio prepares and presents team- and self-shows. We are painters, but we also work in domains like: graphic, painted textile, mural paintings, ceramics, illustrations, jewelry (with non-precious metals). We make researches for projects in different spheres of art and education. We have private lessons on painting art and theatrical forms. We have individual approach on each student, based on his (or her) interests and wishes. We try to make the students feel equal to us, searching their understanding and friendship. Our idea is to turn the communication of the kids with the art into a celebration.

· I graduate SSAS of "Applied arts"

· Since graduating I've worked for various theater- and TV-productions, as well as for firms

· Now I work also on projects for printed materials (posters, folders, visit-cards, catalogues, invitation cards, tickets, diplomas, logo, fonts and others)

· Next was "Clarinet Figures", in which the scenography was mine. Director was Ivan Urumov and artists were Plamen Sirakov, Vasil Popov, Dimitar Manchev and Vesselin Zanev. The music for the production was composed by Misho Shishkov. I continue experimenting...

Dimitar Petrov

· 1982 - I graduate SSAS of "Applied arts" - Sofia, "Space design"

· 1984 - 1985 - I work as an assistant-scenographer in the Bulgarian National Television

· 1985 - 1987 - I work at the Film Studios "Boyana". I participate in the crew of five productions (I also play as mute). The most famous is "Dividing time", director Ludmil Staykov

· 1987 - I was selected for head-artist in the SMT (State Musical Theater) - Sofia. There I was making the advertising and was director of the artistic studio. I was an assistant as a scenographer in some productions

· 1996 - I was accepted in New Bulgarian University - subject "Scenographing" in "Theater" department

· In the university I participated in seminars and workshops

· After I graduated, I worked with different theatrical troupes and productions in televisions

· Now I work also on projects for printed materials (posters, folders, visit-cards, catalogues, invitation cards, tickets, diplomas, logo, fonts and others)

· I have participated in many exhibitions - shared and my own in: Austria, Greece, Switzerland, Macedonia and Bulgaria

· I made my self-exhibitions based on texts of Yordan Radichkov in the winter of 2002. It was opened by academician Svetlin Rusev. Special guests were Radichkov and his family
